Scanning and barcodes
Ohjuri labels and product barcodes with the camera, actions and linking codes to items.
Updated 6 November 2026
Scan reads an Ohjuri label or a product barcode with your phone's or computer's camera. You can also type the code.
Actions #
Choose an action first. It is applied to every code you read, so unpacking a grocery bag is quick.
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Show details | Opens the item, location or task |
| Take from stock | Reduces stock (earliest-expiring first) |
| Add to stock | Adds stock to the chosen location |
| Move to location | Moves the item to another location |
| Break down multipack | Unpacks a pack into single items |
| Add to shopping list | Adds the item to the shopping list |
| Collect into basket | Ticks the item into the basket in the shop |
Tip: scan a location label first to set it as the location or target.
Unknown barcode #
If nothing matches the code, you can create a new item with it or add the code to an existing item. An item can have several barcodes (e.g. different pack sizes).
Ohjuri labels #
Print labels on the Print page. The QR code also opens the item's page with your phone's own camera; the barcode (CODE39) works in Ohjuri's scanner and barcode readers.
Scanning needs permission to use the camera in your browser.
