Inventory
Stock, batches, taking out, adding, moving and stocktaking.
Updated 6 November 2026
Inventory shows what is where, what it is worth and what has happened. Its tabs are Stock and Movements.

Batches #
Stock consists of batches: each has a location, a quantity and optionally an expiry date, purchase price and place of purchase. View the stock By item or as Batches, and filter for example only low or soon-expiring items.
Recording changes #
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Add to stock | A new batch: quantity, location and optionally expiry, price and place of purchase |
| Take | Reduces stock; the earliest-expiring batches are taken first |
| Move | Moves to another location; expiry dates and prices are kept |
| Count | Sets the location's stock to the counted quantity |
You can record changes on the Inventory page, an item's page, a location's page, by scanning or by recording bought items from the shopping list. Multipacks (e.g. 6 × 1 l) can be unpacked into single items.
Movements #
Every addition, take, move and stocktake appears on the Movements tab with who recorded it and when. If an item was used up, record a take rather than deleting the batch, so it shows in the movements and in the consumption forecast.
Without a connection #
Stock changes also work offline; they are sent when the connection returns. See Outbox and offline use.
